Pakistan is a young nation overflowing with young people. In a country of 168 million, those under the age of 18 make up almost half the population. Pakistani teenagers live in many kinds of places and have many kinds of experiences. Teens_in_Pakistan_thumb.jpg

They live in the remote villages of the North-West Frontier and Balochistan provinces, where the first generation of girls is learning to read. They live in the farming and fishing communities of Sindh, where an education comes second to the responsibilities of work and family. They live in the cities of Punjab province, where a lot of them attend private schools and learn English, math, and chemistry. Like teenagers everywhere, they worry about school, have fun with their friends, argue with their parents, and wonder what the future holds for them.
But Pakistani teenagers also face poverty, hunger, terrorism, and political and economic instability. They try to face the future with courage, and they are willing to fight for the chance to live in a better world.
