Raising Kids

I love newborn babies who wail

And demand

And quiet at a familiar breast.

I love little boys who run

And jump

And cause their mothers worry.

I love little girls who giggle

And sing

And please their fathers with hugs.

I love teenagers who wail

And demand

And worry their mothers

And hug their fathers

I love mothers and fathers who hug back.
