| I spent most of my childhood daydreaming in hayfields, talking to cows and finding new friends between the pages of books. My favorite genres were mystery, romance and science fiction. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In high school, my interest turned to the theatre and I performed whenever I could. As my own children grew older, I encouraged them to participate in theatre, too. My poor husband spent many, many hours sitting in theatres watching me or one of our kids perform. My fondest memories are of playing the mother in Charlotte’s Web and being in the chorus of Oklahoma! In both I got to perform with my daughter, Amanda. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Throughout those years, I pursued a BA in Writing and worked first for community television, writing news scripts and video dialog, and then for a county sheriff, writing speeches, news articles and a whole lot more. It took me 14 years, but I eventually completed my undergraduate degree. I immediately enrolled in a master’s program and completed my MFA in Writing in late 2005. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
